How to Promote with Your Blog

Creating a Blog to Promote Your Business

Thousands, maybe even millions of business owners have found success by promoting their business with a blog.

So, you have a website where you sell products and/or services and you are looking for more ways to get the word out about your business so more people visit your website, and hopefully buy some products from you. Maybe you even have an Ebay store, a Yahoo Merchant store, and other avenues of selling.

Promoting your business is crucial to your sales. If no one is aware that your business is out there, no one will know to go to your website. There are countless ways to promote your business, and creating a business blog is a growing trend. Even large corporations now have blogs with which to promote their businesses. It doesn't matter if you are General Electric or you have an individual online business - you can benefit greatly from a business blog.

First, start with a plan for your business blog. Obviously, the content of your blog must be related to your business in some way. For example, if you sell party items online, your blogs will be about party items, new party items, certain holidays and celebrations, and more.

Here are some questions to begin with -

1. What will your customers and potential customers want to get out of your blog?

2. Will you provide the content or will you hire a blog writer?

3. How often can you post a blog?

4. What will you name your blog?

5. What should your blog design look like?

All of these questions that you need to use in order to plan your business blog are important for its success. You need to know what your readers will want to get out of your blog so you can keep them coming back.

If you can't write well, it would be best for you to hire a blog writer to write your content.

Blogging on a regular basis is vital. If you don't post blogs regularly no one will find an interest in your blog because there is nothing new there to read. However, if you post at least once a week you should do pretty well.

Naming your blog appropriately is also important. You should try to name it with the same name as your business so people can see the connection. If you do not want a host to create your link (using Blogger as an example) for example, suespurses.blogspot.com and would rather have your own domain: suespurses.com then you may have to pay for your blog hosting, but it can be well worth the small cost.

One last thing you might realize is that you must choose a design for your blog. Most are completely customizable if you are familiar with the coding, and you can also find free blog templates to use. Choose colors that coincide with your business' website, and choose a style that fits your business.

Wishing you Blogging Success,

Nicky
